FEMA Critical Staffing Act (H.R. 4992)

Details
The bill finds that due to frequent climate change-fueled disasters, the Federal Emergency Management Agency works year-round to support communities across the United States. It requires FEMA to reinstate individuals who were involuntarily separated from service during a specific period and allows those individuals to choose to be reinstated.
The bill also continues and restores certain programs that support State and local efforts to prepare for and respond to extreme weather events. These include the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program and the flood mitigation assistance program authorized under the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968.
