Section 1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the "Health and Human Services Act of 2025" or the "Act".

This Act may be cited as the “Health and Human Services Act of 2025” or the “Act”.

SEC. 102. Definitions

  1. The term “Secretary” means the Secretary of Health and Human Services;
  2. The term “State” means any of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, or a territory of the United States;
  3. The term “United States” shall include the 50 States, the District of Columbia, and the territories of the United States.

SEC. 1101. Updating resource limits for Supplemental Security Income eligibility (SSI)

(a) Section 1611(a)(3) of the Social Security Act is amended by striking “and” after “January 1, 1988,” and inserting “, and to $6,200 on January 1, 2025,”; and

(b) Section 1611(b)(1) of the Social Security Act is amended by striking “and” after “January 1, 1988,” and inserting “, and to $4,100 on January 1, 2025,”;

(c) Beginning with December 2025, whenever the dollar amounts in effect under paragraphs (1)(A) and (2)(A) of this subsection are increased for a month by a percentage under section 1617(a)(2), each of the dollar amounts in effect under this paragraph shall be increased effective with such month, by the same percentage (and rounded, if not a multiple of $10 to the closest multiple of $10).
