HR 119: Chugach Alaska Land Conveyance Act

Section 101. Land Conveyance
The land described in this section is located in the Chugach National Forest, in the State of Alaska.
Section 102. Definitions
As used in this Act:
- Inupiat Eskimo: The Inupiat people who are traditionally and currently residing within the area that is now Chugach Alaska.
- Native corporation: A corporation established under section 812 of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (30 U.S.C. 262-1 et seq.).
Section 103. Land Conveyance
The Secretary, in consultation with Chugach Alaska and the Federal Land Manager, shall convey to Chugach Alaska:
- a tract of land consisting of approximately 1,560,250 acres.
- the land described in this section is located in the Chugach National Forest, in the State of Alaska.
Section 104. Exclusion of Village Corporation Development and Shareholder Sites
Notwithstanding section 102(a) of the General Management Act (30 U.S.C. 212a), Chugach Alaska shall exclude from the conveyance of non-Federal land all rights, title, and interest in any land:
- (A) a Village Corporation has retained development rights, other than timber development rights; or
- (B) has been designated for a shareholder homesite program.
Section 105. Maps, Estimates, and Descriptions
The Secretary and Chugach Alaska may:
- c Correct any minor errors in any map, acreage estimate, or description of any land conveyed or exchanged under this Act.
- C Resolve any conflict between a map, an acreage estimate, or a description of land in this Act, the map shall control unless the Secretary and Chugach Alaska mutually agree otherwise.
