Army Plans to Eliminate Programs Not Contributing to Lethality
The US Army is taking a major step towards transformation with the launch of the Army Transformation Initiative. This new initiative aims to reexamine all requirements, eliminate unnecessary ones, and prioritize initiatives that contribute to lethality.
“We will be prioritizing initiatives that directly support our core competencies and enhance our ability to deploy and operate effectively,” said Secretary of the Army Daniel P. Driscoll.
Key Principles of the Initiative
- Reexamine all requirements: The Army will conduct a thorough review of its current requirements and eliminate any that are not aligned with the core competencies.
- Prioritize initiatives contributing to lethality: Initiatives that directly support the Army’s ability to deploy and operate effectively will be prioritized over those that do not.
- Empower leaders to take risks and learn from failure: The initiative aims to create a culture where leaders are encouraged to take calculated risks and learn from their mistakes.
