The Pregnancy.gov Act: A New Resource for Expecting Mothers
Introduced on May 8, 2025, the Pregnancy.gov Act aims to provide expecting mothers with access to a wealth of information and resources. The bill was introduced by Rep. H. Arshbarger and co-sponsored by several other representatives.
SSection 1: Short Title
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Pregnancy.gov Act’’.
SSection 2: Pregnancy.gov
The Public Health Service Act is amended by adding at the end the following:
‘‘TITLE XXXIV—PREGNANCY.GOV1
‘‘SEC. 3401. WEBSITE.2
‘‘(a) W
EBSITE .—Not later than 1 year after the date3
of enactment of this section, the Secretary shall publish4
a public website entitled ‘pregnancy.gov’. The Secretary5
may not delegate implementation or administration of6
such website below the level of the Office of the Secretary.7
Such website shall include information on the following topics:8
‘‘(A) Mentorship opportunities, including9
pregnancy and parenting help and case man-10
agement resources.
‘‘(B) Health and well-being services, in-11
cluding women’s medical services such as ob-12
stetrical and gynecological support services for13
women, abortion pill reversal, breastfeeding,14
general health services, primary care, and den-15
tal care.
‘‘(C) Financial assistance, work opportuni-16
ties, nutrition assistance, childcare, and edu-17
cation opportunities for parents.
‘‘(D) Material or legal support, including18
transportation, food, nutrition, clothing, house-19
hold goods, baby supplies, housing, shelters,20
maternity homes, tax preparation, legal support21
for child support, family leave, breastfeeding22
protections, and custody issues.
‘‘(E) Recovery and mental health services,23
including services with respect to addiction or25
suicide intervention, intimate partner violence,24
sexual assault, rape, sex trafficking, and coun-2
seling for women and families surrounding the3
unexpected loss of a child.
‘‘(F) Prenatal diagnostic services, includ-5
ing disability support organizations, medical6
interventions for a baby, perinatal hospice re-7
sources, pregnancy and infant loss support, and8
literature on pregnancy wellness.
‘‘(G) Healing and support services for10
abortion survivors and their families.
‘‘(H) Services providing childcare, adop-12
tion, foster care, and short-term childcare serv-13
ices and resources.
‘‘(I) Comprehensive information on alter-15
natives to abortion.
‘‘(J) Information about abortion risks, in-17
including complications and failures.18
‘‘(K) Links to information on child devel-19
opment from moment of conception.20
‘‘(L) Prenatal diagnostic services, includ-21
ing disability support organizations, medical22
interventions for a baby, perinatal hospice re-23
sources, pregnancy and infant loss support, and24
literature on pregnancy wellness.
SSection 3: Definitions
‘‘(1) ABORTION .—The term ‘abortion’ means1
the use or prescription of any instrument, medicine,2
drug, or any other substance or device to inten-3
tionally—4
‘‘(A) kill the unborn child of a woman5
known to be pregnant; or6
‘‘(B) terminate the pregnancy of a woman7
known to be pregnant, with an intention other8
than—9
‘‘(i) after viability, to produce a live10
birth and preserve the life and health of11
the child born alive;12
‘‘(ii) to remove a dead unborn child;13
or14
‘‘(iii) to treat an ectopic pregnancy.15
‘‘(2) B
ORN ALIVE .—The term ‘born alive’ has16
the meaning given such term in section 8(b) of title17
1, United States Code.18
‘‘(3) P
ROHIBITED ENTITY .—The term ‘prohib-19
ited entity’ means an entity, including its affiliates,20
subsidiaries, successors, and clinics that performs,21
induces, refers for, or counsels in favor of abortions,22
or provides financial support to any other organiza-23
tion that conducts such activities.24
‘‘(4) RELEVANT RESOURCES .—The term ‘rel-1
evant resources’ means the Federal, State, local gov-2
ernmental, and private resources that serve pregnant3
and postpartum women, or women parenting young4
children, in the categories of the following topics:5
‘‘(A) Mentorship opportunities, including6
pregnancy and parenting help and case man-7
agement resources.
‘‘(B) Health and well-being services, in-9
cluding women’s medical services such as ob-10
stetrical and gynecological support services for11
women, abortion pill reversal, breastfeeding,12
general health services, primary care, and den-13
tal care.14
